LA Soccer Club Members and Friends,

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to pass on this sad news. Our FRIEND, Alex Masterton passed away on Saturday 3/22/08 after a battle with cancer. Alex recently contacted us to say that he had been feeling a bit better but changes in his health were too much to overcome.

We will all miss him as he was a constant source of good times. We were unfortunate not to have him with us this past January in Vegas and the void left then as it will be from now on is immense.

We wish his family, Brother Billy and his loved one affectionately known to us as Ms. Chiu, peace and tranquility in these difficult times.

Services were held at the Wee Kirk o' the Heather Chapel at Forest Lawn in Glendale Ca., Thursday March 27, 2008

I am so sorry to learn of Alex's death. John McDonald had been keeping me informed but this was such as shock. Alex was in fine form at big John's 60th birthday party and I received an e-mail from him in January this year.

Obviously with my Clyde connections and the fact that Alex was also a "Bully Wee" man, I am particularly saddened by his premature departure.

I was raised in the same part of Glasgow as Alex. Please pass on my sympathy to Ms. Chiu and Lilly McCormack, Alex's sister, with whom I worked at PPG Industries and any other family members.

My thoughts are with the many people who will be impacted by Alex's death. RIP Alex.
